Stocky shuts down 31 August 2026. Own what replaces it.
Stocky shuts down on 31 August 2026, and its supplier records are not exportable - when the lights go off, that data is gone. Native Shopify inventory does not fill the gap: no demand forecasting, no min/max reorder points, no supplier lead-time tracking, no purchase-order workflow, no low-stock email alerts. Moving to another inventory SaaS just rents the same risk from a different landlord.
Owned Shopify inventory + reorder/PO connector. From two weeks (scoped).
If you only track on-hand counts and reorder by gut, native Shopify inventory may be enough - we will tell you so rather than sell you a build. We build when forecasting, reorder points, lead times and POs are real workflow you would otherwise lose with Stocky.
- We are on Stocky - the deadline is 31 August 2026, what now?
- Two parts. First, the data rescue before the deadline: we pull out your supplier records, costs, lead times and reorder settings while Stocky is still live, because that data is not exportable once it shuts. Second, the owned replacement: a forecast, reorder-point and purchase-order connector built on Shopify's own Inventory API, running on your infrastructure with the source in your repo. No vendor can sunset it on you again.
- Is native Shopify inventory enough?
- For basic on-hand tracking, often yes - and if that is all you do, keep it. But native Shopify inventory has no demand forecasting, no min/max reorder points, no supplier lead-time tracking, no PO workflow and no low-stock email alerts. Those are exactly the Stocky features you would lose. We rebuild only the ones you actually use, scoped against your catalogue and supplier list.
- Why not just move to another inventory app?
- You can, but you are back to renting - subject to the next price change, acquisition or shutdown. The whole point of the Stocky deadline is that it shows what rented infrastructure does when the vendor decides to leave. An owned connector on Shopify's Inventory API cannot be discontinued out from under you.
- How long does it take?
- From two weeks, scoped. The data rescue is time-critical and runs first, before the 31 August 2026 deadline; the forecast/reorder/PO build is scoped against the features you actually rely on, not a blind like-for-like rebuild. We quote it in the call.
Send us your teardown. We will reply with a fixed fee.
No call. No discovery deck. We read your report, name the connector we would build first, and quote the dollar amount and the calendar weeks. You decide.
- ✓ Fixed fee. No retainer.
- ✓ Two to four weeks per connector.
- ✓ Source code lives in your repo, not ours.
- ✓ If we cannot beat the SaaS price net of payback, we say so.
